Kathryn Thomson has been the Chief Operating Officer at Tourism NI since December 2007 following three years as Director of Finance & Business Planning. She has responsibility for strategy and policy development; corporate and financial governance; organizational development; ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in delivery of services by Tourism NI and deputising for the Chief Executive. Prior to joining Tourism NI Kathryn worked in the senior finance team within NHS Greater Glasgow, primarily involved in business and financial planning to influence decision making.
She holds a BCom (Hons) degree in Business Studies from the University of Edinburgh, completed her professional accountancy training at PricewaterhouseCoopers and has been a Member of the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) since 1998.
Kathryn is a Director and Trustee on the Board of 3 charities – the Simon Community (since 2010) of which she is also the Treasurer; Replay Productions (since 2011) of which she is Chair; and, Open House Festival (since April 2015).
