Delivery of a new stadium at Casement Park in Belfast, with a capacity for almost 35,000 patrons.
Project Description
Casement Park is the third and final project to be delivered under the Executive’s Regional Stadia Programme. The project will provide a new stadium at Casement Park in Belfast, with a capacity in the region of 34,500. In addition to accommodating modern facilities for players, spectators, conferencing and corporate hospitality, the stadium will also include extensive community facilities and space for cultural, heritage and education activities. As evidenced by the completed Kingspan and Windsor Park stadia, the Casement Park project will deliver social and economic benefits to the local community and beyond, both during construction and operation phases.
Project Status
The Integrated Consultancy and Integrated Supply Teams have previously been appointed. A revised planning application was submitted in 2017 and on the 13th October 2020, the Minister for Infrastructure announced her intention to recommend approval of the planning application.
SIB Involvement
Completion of the Casement Park Project is a New Decade New Approach commitment. SIB supports delivery of this commitment through provision of a Programme Director to the Regional Stadia Programme and Project Director to the Casement Park project under a service level agreement to the Department for Communities.
