Project Description
The project aims to replace a number of buildings that are not fit for purpose and rationalise the number of campuses from the 17 that SRC currently operates from.
The project consists of three new building projects, located at existing campuses at Armagh and Banbridge as well as a new campus at Craigavon to replace the existing campuses at Lurgan and Portadown.
The driving force behind the project is to provide high quality fit for purpose accommodation to enable the delivery of training provision and further and higher education in a manner which is attractive to students, creates an effective modern learning environment and supports the efficient operation of the college, both now and in the future.
Project Status
- Armagh: Completion was achieved at Armagh on 20th March 2020 and the new campus is fully operational.
- Banbridge: Completion was achieved on the 16th December 2020 and the new campus is fully operational.
- Craigavon: Currently undergoing an Options Appraisal following Court of Appeal decision to quash the planning approval.
SIB Involvement
An SIB Project Director was appointed on the 1st September 2015. The post is being delivered through the Strategic Investment Board under an Operational Partnership Agreement between SIB and the Department for Economy.
